Best Unusual Event Space

Open to any venue with an event space that was not designed as such but is utilised for events used by external clients and is unusual in its design or original purpose and/or in its history of use.

Nominees need to demonstrate how the space can be used for multiple purposes which sets the space apart from the standard characteristics found in purpose built event venues.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Open to UK hotels and meeting and event venues including those whose main activity is not business events but which hire its facilities for external use.
  • The event space should be either multi- purpose or originally designed for a purpose other than meetings and events.
  • Purpose built event spaces are NOT eligible for this award.

Judging Criteria:

  • Nominees need to demonstrate the multi-purpose nature of the event space and in what ways the space can be described as unusual.
  • Nominees need to demonstrate a high level of customer service and benefits for customers and delegates.

Nominees should  include supporting evidence to explicitly demonstrate the unusual nature of the space and how its original purpose evolved into use as an event space. In addition supporting evidence might include (but not limited to), client testimonials, references, case studies,  Net Promotor Scores, repeat business percentages.

Any venue, hotel or event supplier in the UK. A venue is a hotel, conference centre, sports stadium...basically if you fit into one of the categories you can enter! Just read the eligibility and judging criteria and you can't go far wrong.

The shortlist is announced on the evening of Monday 27 April 2020 at CHS Leeds – don’t forget to register and attend!

We announce the shortlist on the evening of Monday 27 April 2020 which is the night before the CHS Leeds. Exhibitors and visitors to the show will be first to know, and we’ll announce it on our website and through a press release too.

It's FREE to enter the awards, so go on....get entering!

You can apply to be a judge by completing the form on the website. We do have some criteria and will let you know if you are successful as soon as possible.

You can purchase tickets via the website. Individual tickets are £135+VAT but if you want to bring the whole team, a table of 10 is £1300+VAT. Why not make a night of it and reward your team for all of their hard work? Even if you don’t win it’s a great networking event, with leading industry figures in attendance.

Of course! You can enter as many as you feel suit your company.

The only thing we can say here is make sure you have lots of supporting evidence. The Judges use your submission only to decide on their winner, so you need to make sure they have all the information required to make their choice.
